Douglas charger model 6M450B21 serial number B8928T. This is a fully automatic 12 volt, 450 A.H., single phase charger that can be set for 208/240/480 VAC. Charger is fully operational and has been tested by our technicians. We will set charger for your incoming AC voltage (if provided) and install specified battery connector size and color.
| Q: | Hi. I'm building an off grid house and want to use this charger to charge my battery bank consisting of 6 to 8 Trojen T105 batteries or about 600 to 800 amp hours capacity. This charger looks like it will match my generator pretty well. I'm new to this size charger but familiar with chargers in general and was an auto mechanic for several years so understand 12v systems. A couple quick questions. What exactly do they mean when they say the charger can be set for 208/240/480 VAC? I'm assuming this is incoming voltage. Can I run it from a 110V generator? Can I use the charger to put out less than 450 AH? Can I turn it down to lets say 150 AH? And how much does it weigh and can you give me an approximate cost to ship it to Olympia Washington? Thank you for the information. Chris. posted by: Chris Erickson 8/11/2009 4:23:27 PM |
| A: | Hi Chris - This charger only operates on incoming AC voltage of 208, 240, or 480 which we can set before shipment. You could run it off of a generator with 240 output. I think this charger is too big for T-105's. This charger will put out about 85-90 amps DC output which is probably too much and would damage the batteries. These are primarily for lift trucks, pallet jacks, etc. Unfortunately, I am not too familiar with your type of application. It weighs about 160#'s and freight would be $125-150 give or take. |
